You probably saw the news reports about a Spokane chapter of the Mongols Motorcycle Club converging on Spokane recruiting club members. This week local law enforcement expressed to the media that friction is building between the Mongols and the Hell Angels may soon lead to a possible turf war.
Between February 17 and 19 there was a fight in downtown Spokane which involved Mongols and Hells Angels club members. It’s unknown whether anyone was hurt.
Chief Anne Kirkpatrick quoted in an interview with KXLY reporter Jeff Humphrey on February 28th that the police received a call the evening of the fight and they dispatched every available resource to the area.
“ We had between 20 and 30 gang members from two rival gangs that were congregating downtown and we received a telephone call and took immediate action to bolster our presence,” ~ Chief Anne Kirkpatrick
The Spokane Police might have surrounded the area to “bolster their presence” but only after the clash between the two clubs dissipated. This fight caught the police off guard just as much as it caught the innocent bystanders off guard that night.
If you were downtown and witnessed this fight, email me at firstname.lastname@example.org – because I’d like to hear from you what actually went down that night.
